Health centre (Vårdcentral)
If you are ill, injured or are not feeling very well mentally, you should first contact a health centre. Staff at the centre can help you to stay fit and well and support you in your effort to lead a healthier life.
A health centre can provide help with a range of conditions, including:
- Infections (such as a persistent cough, runny nose, fever, sore throat or bladder infection)
- Asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
- Gastrointestinal problems
- High blood pressure and cardiovascular disorders
- Skin problems and wounds
- Mental ill-health
- Allergies
- Diabetes
- Memory loss or dementia
- Gynaecological problems
- Vaccinations
Each health centre has an expert team of doctors, district nurses, assistant nurses, rehabilitation coordinators, and staff who work with mental health.
